Following some time in hospital after a stroke Frank Watson passed away on 11th April 2024 aged 88.

Frank served in Central Band from 1955–1960 on French Horn and was a much respected musician. In 2023 Frank was delighted to attend the concert at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square with his daughter Yvonne, where we met up at a local pub before the concert. Frank’s long time Central Band friend William Morton joined him there and it was great to see two old pals together enjoying a super concert.
Whatever we do after our time in RAF Music, we are fortunate that whenever and wherever we meet up we enjoy the common thread of having served, and therefore share a special relationship with each other.
